Hiring Immediately Maintenance Technician • Knoxville, TN Nightshift The Opportunity Maintain and repair plant equipment to keep it operating safely and efficiently. Install new and upgraded equipment as needed. Troubleshoot and repair equipment to minimize machine downtime and maintain production. Perform preventive and operational maintenance to ensure a functional and safe work environment. Assist with inventory to identify replacement and new parts needed to prevent equipment breakdowns. Assess upset conditions and take appropriate action to safely correct them. How You Will Impact Smurfit Westrock Execute job duties in a safe and efficient manner. Follow all safety policies, procedures, and expectations. Work with the production and maintenance teams to maintain production and achieve quality products. Ensure compliance with food safety and quality requirements, including SQF, HACCP, GMP, and ISO regulations. Report issues or events that may pose a risk to employee safety, the environment, facilities, or food packaging safety and quality. Help create and maintain a strong safety culture. Maintain work areas in accordance with all 5S requirements. Work effectively in a fast-paced environment and complete tasks in a timely manner. Participate in continuous improvement activities, corrective actions, plant/corporate safety events, and training. Perform other related duties as assigned. What You Need to Succeed High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to follow instructions. Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic industrial systems, including their function and repair. Strong troubleshooting skills. Experience with welding, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Ability to manage multiple tasks. Strong communication skills between departments. Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
