PURPOSE OF POSITION : A Cook works under the Lead Cook/Sous Chef's instructions in preparing and cooking menu items provided to customers. He/she is also responsible for keeping the workplace clean. The Ideal Candidates Will Have EDUCATION: Relevant bachelor's degree or higher preferred Experience Cooking experience of 1 year or more Credentials Culinary certificate a must. Advanced culinary certificate preferred. Must speak English fluent enough to be able to deal with customers and teammates Must possess general knowledge of the food and culture of a given field Must have general knowledge of contemporary American cuisine with Pacific Northwest influences Responsible for preparing ingredients for production according to recipes/directions Assists with food production Must be a good communicator and work well with other teammates and kitchen managers Must show basic computer proficiency such as with MSOffice Must demonstrate strong knife skills Must demonstrate an understanding of, and skills to use, kitchen facility, utility, equipment and kitchenware Must know applicable laws regarding food safety and general kitchen operation Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Excellent organizational skills. Possess a gracious, friendly, and fun demeanor. Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment and have a high-level attention to detail. Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork. Results oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure. Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to work a flexible schedule: weekends, holidays, AM, PM, overnight and overtime whenneeded.
