Staff Accountant (Los Angeles)

Tasks and Responsibilities Submit transactions to journals, ledgers, and other records Maintain and balance accounts by verifying, allocating, and reconciling transactions plus resolving discrepancies Maintain general ledger accounts, prepare balance sheet reconciliations & cleanup entry proposals Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure that all transactions are properly recorded and discrepancies are promptly resolved. Prepare monthly variance analysis explanations for expenses and balance sheet accounts Utilize accounting software and other financial tools effectively to perform accounting tasks, generate reports, and maintain accurate records Assist in the completion of audits by analyzing general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors Assist with other ad-hoc reporting requests, projects, and process improvement initiatives as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting 1-3 years experience in Accounting GAAP Audit familiarity Proficient in Microsoft Office/G Suite and a mid-level ERP system (WorkBook/Deltek) Experience with Netsuite/Oracle Systems Experience (system implementation experience a +) Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookup, x-lookup, keyboard shortcuts & use of function keys, SumIF function, ability to create own formulas) Heavy GL experience (balance sheet reconciliations, fixed asset capitalization and management (prepaid, fixed assets, etc) Desired Skills and Experience Creative Advertising Agency/Network based in LA is looking for a Staff Accountant to join its growing accounting and finance team! This role will report into the Assistant Controller and be responsible for a multitude of accounting tasks, emphasizing full-cycle Accounts Receivable, monthly close, account reconciliations, and assisting with audit support. This is a hybrid role (in office 2x per week in LA) with tremendous GROWTH potential!
