Job Description Department: Security Location: St. John Schedule: Full-Time (40 Hours/Week), weekends (required) and holiday rotation Shift: Variable About The Department Join our team at the Moross Road campus, a cornerstone of care for Detroit's east side and the Grosse Pointes. Our location blends community roots with access to lakefront parks, historic architecture, and a convenient commute along the Detroit River corridor. Here, you'll be part of a dedicated team committed to safeguarding the well-being of patients, visitors, and staff in a vibrant, historic neighborhood. Role Overview As a Security Officer, you play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of Henry Ford Health's facilities, staff, patients, and visitors. You'll monitor premises, direct individuals to appropriate locations, and intervene to prevent disturbances. Your vigilance and professionalism help maintain a safe environment, supporting the health system's mission of exceptional care. What You Will Do Monitor Henry Ford Health facilities and properties to protect persons and property against injury or loss. Direct visitors, patients, and employees to appropriate locations. Intervene to prevent and control disturbances. Keep appropriate personnel informed of activities, events, and incidents. Summon necessary assistance as required. Preference given to: Hospital / Healthcare related security experience
• OR- Prior law enforcement experience in a sworn capacity, (Local, State, County, Federal)
• OR- Four plus (4+) years of military experience with Honorable Discharge May be required to use an intermediate weapon. Certifications/Licensures Required Maintain a valid unexpired Michigan operator's license. Satisfactorily complete state minimum training certification requirements and required testing. Annual training and testing requirements must be maintained.
