Tax Manager / Tax Reviewer

Location : West Des Moines, Iowa (On-site) Job Type : Full-time Position Overview A growing accounting firm is seeking an experienced Tax Manager / Tax Reviewer to join its team. This position will be responsible for reviewing tax returns ranging from straightforward to complex, providing guidance and feedback to team members, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tax professional to contribute to a growing practice, collaborate with leadership, and take on a variety of tax-related projects. Key Responsibilities Prepare complex tax returns, including partnership, corporate, and individual income tax returns, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations. Review individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns for accuracy, completeness, and compliance. Handle special projects, including tax audits, notices, and tax planning strategies. Conduct advanced tax research and assist in resolving complex tax issues. Evaluate current tax practices and procedures and recommend improvements to leadership. Communicate with clients to gather information and establish project scope, budgets, and timelines. Collaborate with leadership to discuss client objectives, project progress, and outcomes. Provide coaching, constructive feedback, and guidance to team members. Perform additional duties and special projects as needed. Qualifications And Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required or currently in progress. At least five years of progressive tax experience, including preparation of complex tax returns and review of simpler returns. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to meeting deadlines. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
