# Accountant

What You'll Do As an Accountant, you'll work closely with the Controller to support the financial operations of the Credit Union by: Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of general ledger accounts Preparing and analyzing financial information used to support key business decisions Assisting with monthly financial statements and regulatory reporting Managing accounts payable functions for all entities Researching and resolving accounting discrepancies Supporting audits, examinations, and vendor relationships Partnering with departments throughout the organization to provide financial insight and guidance Contributing to department projects, process improvements, and strategic initiatives Serving as a trusted member of the Finance team by providing cross-functional support as needed What Makes You Successful You Are Someone Who Loves working with numbers and finding answers Has exceptional attention to detail Takes ownership and follows through Thinks analytically and proactively Communicates effectively with both finance and non-finance colleagues Enjoys collaborating while also working independently Constantly looks for ways to improve efficiency and accuracy Qualifications We're Looking For Candidates With Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Strong analytical and critical thinking skills Excellent organizational and communication abilities Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications Ability to interpret and analyze financial reports Public accounting experience preferred Credit union or financial institution accounting experience a plus Ability to be bonded in accordance with State of Iowa and Credit Union requirements Ready to take the first step?
