# Accountant

BASIC POSITION SUMMARY: The overall purpose of this job is to provide support to the accounting management team with a variety of accounting concepts, practices, and procedures. The Accountant handles day-to-day finance and accounting operations, including journal entries, financial technology systems, and other finance-related administration, and ensures all financial analyses are reconciled and reported on time. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The essential job functions and duties described below may not be the only requirements of the position. It may be necessary to follow other instructions or perform other related duties required by the company. Preparation of general ledgers in Microsoft Dynamics SL, includes accounts payable coding in Altec DocLink and some billing Preparation of financial statements in FYISoft Preparation of various monthly analysis and account reconciliations Provides information and support for the use in the preparation of tax returns May include preparation of tax and book depreciation Preparation of cash flow supporting schedules Prepare and/or assist in the preparation of various federal and state regulatory filings Assist in preparation of subsidiary and/or consolidated annual financial statements with footnotes Prepare monthly financial statements including ensuring that accounts payable cash receipts, accounts receivable, and payroll transactions are recorded properly Perform timely, accurate, month-end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations Ensure proper revenue and expense recognition Ensure that all finance and accounting operations comply with GAAP and applicable federal and state laws and regulations Perform fiscal year-end close activities and support external auditors Participate in and lead cross-training as identified OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS: Any other regulatory reporting projects or duties that may be assigned Job Qualifications: Education/Experience – Bachelor’s degree in accounting or bachelor’s degree in other related field with accounting experience required. A minimum of one (1) to two (2) years’ experience in general ledger accounting. Must be proficient in the use of Excel and other Microsoft applications. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
• Requires the ability to understand accounting concepts, practices, and procedures. Requires skills of accuracy and precise attention to detail. Requires strong written and verbal communication skills. Requires excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize. Strong aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets, and financial reports. Must possess strong organizational skills. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations. Experience with Solomon, Doc-Link, and/or NetSuite are a plus.
