Role Description The Coordinator of Volunteers is a part-time, remote role responsible for organizing and supporting volunteers who contribute to the academy’s educational programs and initiatives. Day-to-day tasks include recruiting and onboarding volunteers, scheduling and assigning duties, and ensuring volunteers have the information and resources they need. The coordinator will conduct or arrange training sessions, provide ongoing guidance, and help resolve questions or concerns from volunteers. The role also involves maintaining volunteer records, supporting community outreach activities, and collaborating with staff to align volunteer efforts with program needs. Regular communication and virtual meetings with volunteers and internal teams are expected. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Volunteer Management and Volunteer Training skills, including the ability to organize, support, and develop volunteers. Candidates should possess excellent Interpersonal Skills and Communication skills to build positive relationships and convey information clearly. Candidates should possess experience or interest in Community Outreach, with the ability to engage and motivate people to participate in volunteer activities. Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and reliability in a remote, part-time environment. Comfort with digital tools for remote coordination (email, messaging platforms, video conferencing, and basic document/spreadsheet software). Prior experience in volunteer coordination, education, non-profit, or community programs is beneficial. Ability to work independently, collaborate virtually with diverse teams, and demonstrate a commitment to inclusive and equitable volunteer engagement.
