Diesel Mechanic – Truck Shop – Indianola, PA $32–$44/hr | Up to $3,500 Sign-On Bonus | No Flat Rate | Monday–Friday | No Weekends Mid-Atlantic Truck & Equipment is looking for a skilled Diesel Technician to join our truck shop in Indianola, PA. At MATE, you’ll work on a variety of heavy-duty trucks and equipment, troubleshooting and repairing everything from diesel engines and electrical systems to hydraulics, drivetrains, chassis, brakes, and other critical components. We’re looking for someone who knows how to diagnose the problem, do the job right, and take pride in the finished repair. What We Offer $32–$44 per hour based on demonstrated skill level No flat-rate pay Sign-On Bonus based on Technician Level Level 1 Technician — $1,500 Level 2 Technician — $2,500 Level 3 Technician — $3,500 $1,000 Annual Tool Allowance — $250 per quarter $200 Annual Boot Allowance Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM No weekends Company-provided uniforms Manufacturer and vendor technical training Benefits That Work for You 80 hours of PTO in your first year, increasing with your years of service 8 hours of paid Personal Leave each year, in addition to PTO Paid holidays Medical, dental, and vision coverage MATE-funded HRA contribution toward your medical deductible — up to $3,000 401(k) with company match: MATE matches 50% of the first 8% you contribute, for a maximum company match of $3,000 per year Company-paid $50,000 Basic Life & AD&D Insurance Company-paid Short-Term Disability Company-paid Long-Term Disability Employee Assistance Program and additional support resources for you and your family What You’ll Do As a Heavy Truck Diesel Technician, you will: Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks and equipment, including diesel engines, chassis, drivetrains, hydraulics, electrical systems, brakes, and related components. Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, engine, and emissions-related issues. Perform preventative maintenance and repairs, including inspections, fluid and filter services, lubrication, brake and suspension work, cooling systems, and other component repairs. Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, including PTO-driven systems, pumps, cylinders, valves, hoses, and related components. Diagnose and repair electrical systems by troubleshooting wiring, power, sensors, and electrical components. Perform repairs safely and efficiently while following manufacturer and company procedures. Complete electronic work orders accurately, documenting diagnostics, repairs, parts used, and additional work recommended. Communicate with the Service Manager and team regarding diagnoses, repair needs, parts, and additional support. Continue developing your technical skills through manufacturer training, vendor resources, and hands-on experience. What We’re Looking For Strong experience diagnosing and repairing heavy-duty trucks and/or equipment Solid knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, brakes, drivetrains, and related mechanical systems Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems using diagnostic tools and a systematic approach Experience with hydraulic systems, including pumps, cylinders, valves, hoses, and PTO-driven systems Experience with welding and fabrication is a plus Ability to use hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and diagnostic equipment Must have your own basic hand tools Valid driver's license required Class A or B CDL is a plus Why MATE? Effective communication is necessary to understand and follow safety procedures and instructions, communicate with customers and team members, and complete required job-related documentation.
