Implementation Engineer Job Description Role Overview The Implementation Engineer is responsible for the on-site and remote deployment, configuration, and commissioning of our AOS (Airport Operational Systems) applications at airport customer sites. This role bridges aviation operational expertise with technical system knowledge, serving as the primary technical point of contact during implementation. The Implementation Engineer combines hands-on technical delivery with customer-facing problem solving, and leverages AI tools to accelerate and improve the quality of their work. Key Responsibilities Deployment & Commissioning Install, configure, and commission AOS applications at airport customer sites and in cloud/on-premise environments. Upload, validate, and maintain system definitions and configuration data. Execute deployment activities within a structured stage-gate project lifecycle, ensuring readiness criteria are met before go-live. Technical Analysis & Troubleshooting Analyze and interpret application log files and system log files to diagnose issues. Comment on, document, and escalate technical findings clearly. Work within OpenShift-based architecture, understanding container orchestration, deployments, and platform behavior relevant to AOS applications. Identify root causes, resolve problems directly where possible, and route issues to the internal team. Aviation Operational Domain Apply airport and aviation operational know-how to ensure implementations meet real operational needs. Understand integration points with airport systems such as baggage handling, flight information display systems (FIDS), and other operational subsystems. Customer Engagement Conduct customer requirement analysis and translate operational needs into technical configuration. Negotiate with customers on scope, timelines, and technical trade-offs. Develop relationships to follow tasks with external vendors and contractors to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget Knowledge & Enablement Deliver on-the-job training to customer staff and internal colleagues. Document implementation procedures and lessons learned. AI-Enabled Working Use AI tools to accelerate log analysis, troubleshooting, documentation, and requirement analysis. Apply AI to work faster and more effectively while maintaining accuracy and sound judgment. Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Ability to read, interpret, and comment on application and system log files. Working knowledge of OpenShift / container platform architecture and general system administration concepts. Comfort with configuration management and uploading system definitions. Familiar with AI tools for technical tasks. Having knowledge of computer networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls and security systems is plus. Domain Aviation / airport operational knowledge, or a demonstrated ability to acquire it quickly. Understanding of how operational airport systems integrate and depend on one another. Language (Mandatory) Fluent professional English (written and spoken) is a mandatory requirement. English is the working language for customer engagement, on-site negotiation, technical documentation, log analysis, and cross-team communication, and is essential to performing this role effectively. Professional Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment on when to resolve vs. escalate. Customer requirement analysis and negotiation skills. Clear written and verbal communication; ability to train others. Comfort working on-site at airport environments and within stage-gate / commissioning project structures. Desirable Bachelor’s Degree in CS or related other fields Experience deploying enterprise software (B2B) in regulated or operationally critical environments, especially Prior airport, aviation, or transportation technology background.
