We are seeking a Brand Protection Attorney to safeguard Lola's brand, intellectual property, and commercial relationships as we scale. As Lola Blankets grows, so does our exposure — from copycat competitors and unauthorized use of our brand likeness to an expanding footprint of partnerships and influencer relationships that all need sound legal structure. This role sits inside Marketing, working day-to-day with the Brand team while partnering closely with Legal and Finance on anything that needs their sign-off. You'll be the first line of defense on brand and IP issues and a hands-on partner to Marketing on the contracts and relationships that carry legal risk.   Core Responsibilities Brand & IP Enforcement Identify and respond to trademark infringement, counterfeit activity, and unauthorized use of Lola's brand or likeness, including drafting and sending cease-and-desist letters, in conjunction with the General Counsel Review marketing, advertising, and promotional content for legal and regulatory compliance Monitor competitor activity for copycat campaigns or infringing use of Lola's IP, and drive enforcement actions through to resolution Loop in and direct outside counsel on matters requiring litigation or specialized expertise   Partnership & Licensing Contracts Draft, negotiate, and manage contracts for brand-to-brand partnerships, sports partnerships, and licensing deals Own the update and modernization of Lola's existing partnership and licensing contract templates Advise Marketing leadership on deal structure and risk before terms are finalized   Influencer & Talent Contracting Advise the Marketing team on the legal and regulatory landscape specific to influencer marketing (FTC disclosure requirements, usage rights, exclusivity terms) Build repeatable contract templates and playbooks to speed up influencer deal turnaround   This role will report to the VP of Brand Marketing and work closely with our General Counsel and VP of Finance. Preference for candidates in New York or Utah who can be hybrid in our offices 3 days per week.   Qualifications J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar admission in good standing 5-7 years of relevant legal experience, ideally including trade secrets, false advertising, licensing disputes, or brand/IP protection matters Experience drafting, negotiating, and managing commercial contracts, brand partnerships, or licensing agreements Familiarity with influencer marketing and the legal/regulatory landscape around creator contracting A confident, assertive advocate who follows through on enforcement actions and doesn't let matters go unresolved Comfortable working independently and directing outside counsel when needed Strong written communication skills, particularly for demand letters and external-facing legal correspondence Experience working cross-functionally with marketing, legal, and finance stakeholders Background in-house or at a firm supporting consumer brands preferred   What We Offer Competitive base salary and annual bonus based on company and individual performance 21 days paid vacation + all federal holidays Full health benefits (health, dental, vision, mental) 16 weeks paid birth parent leave; 8 weeks non-birth parent leave 55% off Lola Blankets for friends and family Opportunities for career growth within Lola Blankets This job was verified from Greenhouse (US).
