Job Description: Wastequip Fleet Services has an immediate opening for a Service Technician in Sacramento, CA. This role is primarily focused on welding, fabrication, hydraulic systems, equipment repair, and general maintenance of refuse and heavy equipment. Most work is performed in our service facility, with occasional travel to customer locations for service and warranty repairs. Candidates advancing in the hiring process should be prepared to complete a hands-on MIG welding and oxy-acetylene torch assessment. Hourly rate: $28.00 - $40.00 (Based on experience). Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications, On the road doing jobs at client sites Automotive/Class 8 truck chassis hydraulic schematic and pressure evaluation. Verifies vehicle service ability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems. Complies with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards. Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting. Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repairs. Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs. Contains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options. Increase job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications. Able to weld on different positions. Ability to lift 50lbs plus, bend, stoop, kneel and climb ladders. Above all, must be able to work closely with co-workers or other team members. Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job. 3-5 years of experience in welding, fabrication, heavy equipment repair, truck/trailer maintenance, hydraulic systems, or a related mechanical trade. Ability to read and comprehend verbal and written instructions Able to troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic components Demonstrated MIG welding and metal fabrication experience required. Strong mechanical aptitude with hydraulics, fabrication, electrical systems, refuse equipment, trucks, trailers, or heavy equipment. Must have good customer service skills. Refuse (Waste Truck) experience a plus Must be team oriented Valid driver's license required. CDL is preferred but not required for all candidates.
