# Project Manager

REF 09: Project Manager (Civil Engineer) SP Architects is seeking a civil engineer to manage large-scale architecture and master planning commissions across its international portfolio, currently concentrated in the Middle East. The role covers planning, coordination and control of multi-disciplinary deliverables, from concept to construction documentation. It also spans programme management, scope and change control, consultant coordination and client reporting. RESPONSIBILITIES Project management Manage assigned projects day to day, as the main point of coordination between design disciplines, external consultants and the client. Establish and maintain the project execution plan: scope, deliverable structure, responsibility allocation and submission strategy. Manage scope and change control. Identify variations against the contracted scope, document them and process them through the agreed procedure. Plan and monitor resource allocation and man-hours against budget. Report deviations to practice management. Maintain the project risk register. Propose and track mitigation measures. Chair coordination meetings, issue minutes and pursue actions to closure. Administer formal correspondence, requests for information and submittals. Maintain the project record. Verify submissions comply with client requirements, local authority regulations and applicable codes before issue. Planning and deliverables control Establish and maintain the master deliverables register across all disciplines, from concept to construction documentation. Develop, baseline and update project programmes using MS Project and other project management software. Monitor progress against the critical path and report deviations. Manage submission dates, interdependencies and revision cycles. Flag schedule slippage early, while recovery is still possible. Track client and authority review comments to close-out. Maintain the record of responses. Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for practice management and the client. Verify issued packages against the contractual scope of services. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. 10–20 years of experience in project management, planning or project control on large-scale building or master planning projects. Working command of project management and scheduling software, including MS Project , covering schedule development, baselining, progress updates and reporting. Fluent in written and spoken English and Arabic , with Arabic considered a strong advantage given the practice’s growing presence in the Gulf. Demonstrated experience on international projects. Experience with Middle East clients, consultants and regulatory authorities is directly relevant. Experience managing multi-disciplinary deliverables through staged submissions. Sound understanding of design coordination between architectural, structural, MEP, infrastructure and landscape disciplines. Analytical and methodical, with the capacity to work independently alongside senior teams and clients.
