Job Title: Cardiac OR Registered Nurse (RN) Dept: APH Surgey Status: Variable Full Time Shift : Day OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED This position requires ON CALL • CANDIDATE MUST LIVE 30 MINUTES FROM HOSPITAL. Role Description The Cardiac OR Registered Nurse (RN) at Arnold Palmer Hospital provides specialized perioperative nursing care to pediatric cardiac surgery patients in an operating room environment. This full-time, on-site role in Orlando, FL involves preparing the cardiac OR, coordinating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring all equipment and supplies are available and functioning. The RN circulates and/or scrubs during procedures, monitors patient status, administers medications as ordered, and upholds strict safety, infection control, and documentation standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, communication with families, and collaboration in quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives. Qualifications Demonstrated proficiency in Operating Room and Surgery environments, including cardiac OR procedures. Strong foundation in Nursing and Medicine, with the ability to apply clinical judgment in complex surgical cases. Commitment to high-quality Patient Care, including assessment, advocacy, safety, and family-centered support. Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida or eligibility for licensure. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications; pediatric life support certifications preferred. Previous OR experience, ideally in cardiac or pediatric surgery, within an acute care hospital setting. Strong communication, teamwork, and time-management skills; ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN preferred); commitment to ongoing professional learning and adherence to evidence-based practices. Arnold Palmer Hospital is currently seeking Cardiac OR Registered Nurse (RN) who administers patient care in an area in a hospital or inpatient setting where patients have an advanced illness or injury that routinely requires timely, intense, and complex care to stabilize and support the patient’s medical condition.
