AWS Lead Data Engineer

Position: AWS Lead Data Engineer Location: Newark, NJ – Hybrid Interview: In-person interview required in Newark, NJ Role Overview We are looking for an experienced AWS Lead Data Engineer to provide technical leadership and design, develop, and optimize scalable data solutions on AWS. The role involves leading data engineering initiatives, mentoring engineers, and working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performing data platforms. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and development of large-scale AWS data pipelines and data lake architectures . Design end-to-end solutions covering data ingestion, storage, transformation, and analytics . Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and code review for Data Engineering teams. Work with Data Scientists, Analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions. Lead legacy data migration to AWS-based data lakes and data warehouses. Establish standards for data quality, security, governance, performance, and scalability . Drive DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices. Troubleshoot complex data engineering issues and provide technical guidance. Mandatory Skills Strong exp as Data Engineering experience with 3+ years in a Lead/Technical Lead role Strong hands-on experience with AWS data services , including: AWS Glue Amazon Redshift Amazon S3 AWS Lambda EMR / Spark Kinesis Athena RDS API Gateway Strong Python and SQL skills Experience with Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, ETL/ELT, Data Modeling, and Big Data frameworks Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code Hands-on experience with Terraform and/or CloudFormation Strong technical leadership, mentoring, and communication skills All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
