This opportunity is ideal for a candidate currently working in public accounting who has experience serving construction, commercial contractor, homebuilder, engineering, land development, or real estate clients and is looking to make a transition into industry. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of job costing, work-in-progress (WIP) schedules, construction accounting, project profitability analysis, and financial reporting . Responsibilities Prepare and review monthly financial statements and supporting schedules Assist with month-end and year-end close processes Analyze project costs, budgets, and profitability across multiple projects Prepare and review Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules Monitor job costs and support project accounting functions Perform account reconciliations and variance analysis Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting Partner with project managers and operations teams to monitor project performance Support audits and coordinate with external accounting firms Identify process improvements and accounting efficiencies Assist with ad hoc reporting and special projects for leadership Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required CPA or CPA-track preferred 3+ years of public accounting experience Current or recent experience working with construction, development, engineering, contractor, or homebuilder clients required Strong understanding of: Work-in-Progress (WIP) Reporting Job Cost Accounting Revenue Recognition Financial Reporting General Ledger Accounting Advanced Excel skills Strong analytical and communication abilities
