Mechanical Engineer - Cleanroom

As an Engineer Cleanroom, you will be responsible for the design and development of cleanroom environments within semiconductor fabrication facilities. This individual contributor role focuses on cleanroom layouts, CAD drawings, engineering calculations, bills of material, and technical specifications to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. You will collaborate with construction teams, subcontractors, and other engineering disciplines to achieve project milestones. This position does not include direct supervisory responsibility. Responsibilities Design and develop cleanroom layouts, structures, and systems to meet project specifications, regulatory requirements, and contamination control standards. Create and review cleanroom CAD drawings, equipment layouts, and bill of materials (BOMs). Develop cleanroom design specifications, including room classifications, construction requirements, and performance criteria. Perform cleanroom airflow and HVAC system design reviews to ensure proper pressurization, air changes, filtration, and particle control. Design cleanroom systems to meet required cleanliness and contamination control standards. Coordinate the integration of filter fan units (FFUs), HVAC equipment, and supporting infrastructure within cleanroom environments. Apply working knowledge of electrical systems, power loads, and equipment requirements associated with cleanroom filtration and airflow systems. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure cleanroom mechanical, electrical, and structural systems are properly integrated. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field). 3-5 years of experience in cleanroom design and engineering, preferably in the semiconductor industry. In-depth knowledge of cleanroom systems including HVAC, filtration, airflow control, and contamination prevention. Proficiency in CAD software for cleanroom layouts and engineering drawings (AutoCAD, Revit) and simulation tools for airflow and contamination control. Experience with cleanroom design, room classifications, contamination control, and air particle management. Understanding of bill of materials (BOM) development and technical specification documentation. Knowledge of HVAC airflow design, filtration systems, and cleanroom pressurization concepts. Basic electrical knowledge related to filter fan units (FFUs), power distribution, and equipment load requirements. Preferred Certified Cleanroom Engineer (CCE) or similar certification. Experience working with semiconductor fabs, foundries, or other high-tech manufacturing facilities. Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and equipment integration. Familiarity with construction management software and project scheduling tools. Good time management skills, strong work ethic and attention to detail. Good verbal and written communication skills. Must be a strong team player with an ability to build effective working relationships with individuals, department leads, and client representatives. Energetic and self-motivated.
