# Acute Medicine Clinical Nurse - Full-Time Days

Role Overview This position involves providing comprehensive direct patient care in a 38-bed acute care unit, managing patients with diverse clinical conditions such as blood dyscrasias, endocrine issues, heart and renal failure, and infectious diseases. The nurse collaborates with a multidisciplinary team—including case managers, social workers, physical therapists, dietitians, pharmacists, and physicians—to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, educating patients and families about illness management, and promoting safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. The role emphasizes professional development, leadership, and collaboration, with opportunities for career advancement through a structured nurse career ladder that offers increased compensation for higher levels of responsibility. Qualifications & Skills Education: Nursing Diploma/Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred Licenses: Valid RN license Experience: No prior experience required; 2+ years preferred for advanced roles Skills: Critical nursing skills, ability to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, strong communication, teamwork, and patient education skills Key Duties Promote patient and family-centered care and educate on illness management Participate in safety, quality, and regulatory activities Develop, document, and communicate individualized care plans Assess patient needs holistically, considering emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific factors Maintain alertness and safety awareness as a safety-sensitive role
