AIR OPERATIONS OFFICER (PILOT/NAVIGATOR) (Title 32)

This National Guard position is for an AIR OPERATIONS OFFICER (PILOT/NAVIGATOR), Position Description Number NGD0307000 and is part of 114 FW OPS GP. This is a permanent, Title 32, Dual-Status position. AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION: • All members of the South Dakota Air National Guard or those eligible to become a member. Note: This position is open concurrently as AGR. Only one position will be filled. As an AIR OPERATIONS OFFICER (PILOT/NAVIGATOR), GS-2101-14, you will: This position is located at unit level In the Air Operations program at selected Military Airlift Command (MAC) and Strategic Air Command (SAC) gained flying units in the Air National Guard (ANG). Its paramount purpose is to plan, organize and supervise all unit flying operations programs required by Air Force, Major Command, and ANG regulations. In addition to supervisory responsibility, this position is a rated aircrew member on flying status involved in the piloting or navigation of unit-equipped (UE) aircraft. NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Lt Col promotable up to Col are eligible to apply. Selected individual must be assigned to a compatible military position in the following AFSC upon date of hire: AFSC P010C0W. Aptitude scores can be checked on the vMPF or at the Customer Service in the Force Support Squadron and physical profile in the medical squadron. Military grade inversion within the full-time work force is not permitted. The military grade of the full time supervisor must equal or exceed the military grade of personnel supervised. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training interpreting, explaining, and/or applying a variety of regulations and procedures. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Experience, education, or training routine and non-routine preflight, in-flight, post-flight, ground or command and control (C2) duties according to specific transportation functions. Receives, interprets, extracts, and disseminates relevant data for mission planning or execution. Experience coordinating and negotiating with organizations/personnel both orally and in writing to resolve differences/problems. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel. Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities (KSAs): Applicants must have 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade in the following KSAs and are strongly encouraged to submit a separate sheet(s) addressing the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) and how they relate to work experience, education or training. Skill to provide leadership and management of a combat flying unit. Knowledge of manpower, equipment and training in peacetime, in preparation to perform the wartime mission. Skill to oversee unit flight and ground training of assigned/attached flying personnel. Knowledge of the organization and its mission. NA
