PLC Engineer | Fargo, ND JOB SUMMARY We are seeking a motivated and hardworking individual to join our team in Fargo, ND as a PLC Engineer. As a PLC Engineer, you will: Produce control programs for packaging machinery that meet customer specifications within defined timelines Collaborate with controls designers to determine electrical components Work with mechanical engineers to develop machine processes Create PLC programs using Allen Bradley RSLogix 5000 and B&R Automation Studio in ladder logic and structured text Develop HMI programs using Allen Bradley RSView Studio Review safety circuits and programming to ensure safe machine operation Integrate third‑party equipment into machine functions Provide design improvement suggestions throughout machine development Assist in developing electrical standards compliant with national and international codes Troubleshoot program errors with validation engineers Review operating manuals for accuracy and reduction of service calls Travel to customer sites or provide remote support for equipment Maintain a clean and safe work area and participate in company meetings Support special projects and take responsibility across divisions for assigned tasks Work collaboratively with suppliers and Applied partners Contribute to projects that impact communities in West Fargo, Moorhead, Dilworth, Horace, Harwood, and the greater Fargo metro area Apply your skills in a dynamic environment that values ownership and innovation QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering required Experience programming PLCs, robots, and operator interfaces Experience writing ladder logic programs Familiarity with additional programming languages Experience in a manufacturing environment Knowledge of Allen Bradley and B&R PLC, HMI, and servo systems Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Ability to develop new concepts and standards Strong communication skills (written and verbal) High attention to detail and strong organizational skills Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability Ability to think ahead and plan over a 3–6 month time span Capable of working independently and as a team member Strong work ethic and unwavering integrity Excellent interpersonal skills and a learning mindset Curiosity, problem solving, and analytical thinking Effective verbal and written communication Desire to work on a variety of projects ESTIMATED PAY RANGE Engineer I: $40.45–$46.52/hour Engineer II: $44.14–$50.76/hour Engineer III: $47.83–$55.00/hour Senior Engineer: $51.51–$59.24/hour Final compensation is based on experience, skills, and alignment with role expectations.
