SUPPLY TECHNICIAN

The primary purpose of this position is to provide comprehensive, wing-level supply operations and materiel management support pertaining to specialized, unique, and highly sensitive supplies, equipment, and repair parts. Performs weapon systems and equipment account research utilizing Department of the Air Force (DAF) enterprise logistics systems, including the Integrated Logistics System-Supply (ILS-S), Enterprise Solution-Supply (ES-S), and associated federal catalog databases. Coordinates specialized supply and logistics support for wing-level maintenance, flightline operations, back-shop production, and equipment overhaul activities. Manages inventory and determines optimal stock levels for non-recurring, specialized, and critical mission-support items. Analyzes historical usage profiles, seasonal demands, project milestones, and deployment forecasts to adjust stock profiles and prevent critical operational depletions. Compiles, analyzes, and interprets complex logistics performance indicators to prepare recurring and special reports for squadron, group, and wing leadership. Maintains unit-level operational readiness by administering key administrative, training, and QA programs within the LRS flight. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Clerical and Administrative Support Positions for Supply Clerical and Technician Series, 2005. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NJ-01, equivalent to the next to lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in the Federal Service. Specialized experience must include comprehensive knowledge of governing Department of the Air Force (DAF), Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC), and joint-service materiel management regulations, procedures, and manuals. In-depth knowledge of Logistics Readiness Squadron (LRS) structures, flight-line support requirements, and inventory management practices in support of major weapons systems. OR EDUCATION: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience as described above may be used to qualify for this position. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Comprehensive knowledge of governing Department of the Air Force (DAF), Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC), and joint-service materiel management regulations, procedures, and manuals. 2. In-depth knowledge of Logistics Readiness Squadron (LRS) structures, flight-line support requirements, and inventory management practices in support of major weapons systems. 3. Proficiency in utilizing standard Air Force enterprise databases and transaction systems, such as ILS-S, ES-S, and related asset tracking applications, to execute and research complex supply actions. 4. Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical orders (TOs), Air Force Instructions (AFIs), federal supply catalogs, and logistics directives to resolve intricate materiel management issues. 5. Ability to utilize basic quantitative and qualitative analytical methods to identify supply trends, audit data, and develop solutions for non-standard inventory and supply chain problems. 6. Ability to receive, screen, audit, and reconcile logistics and shipping documentation to maintain absolute compliance with federal audit standards (e.g., FIAR). PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
