Role Description The Jr Tab Technician is a full-time, on-site role located in Huntsville, AL. This position supports Test & Balance projects by assisting with field measurements of airflow, temperature, and pressure, and by helping to verify HVAC system performance against design requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include setting up and using test instruments, documenting findings, following standardized procedures, and supporting senior technicians in troubleshooting and adjusting systems as directed. The role also involves maintaining tools and equipment, adhering to safety protocols, and preparing clear, organized notes for inclusion in project reports. The Jr Tab Technician collaborates closely with team members, project leads, and site contacts to ensure accurate, timely completion of assigned tasks. Qualifications Ability to learn and apply Test & Balance procedures, including measuring airflow, temperature, and pressure with accuracy. Basic mechanical aptitude and interest in HVAC and building systems, including understanding how components interact in a facility. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for documenting data, following checklists, and supporting report preparation. Capability to work safely on active job sites, including following safety guidelines, using personal protective equipment, and handling tools responsibly. Effective communication skills for working with senior technicians, project managers, and site personnel in a professional manner. Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift moderate weights as required for field work in various building environments. High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or coursework in HVAC, engineering technology, or a related field is beneficial. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites in and around Huntsville, AL. Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and develop new technical skills through on-the-job training and guidance.
