Summary The Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining company vehicles and equipment. This role performs electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, transmission, and air-conditioning repairs; conducts routine maintenance and safety inspections; and test-drives equipment to verify that repairs have been completed properly. Accurate completion of repair orders and daily documentation is also required. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Test and identify worn and damaged parts. Test repair or install electrical systems and components. Test repair or install hydraulic systems and components. Perform routine and scheduled maintenance on equipment. Test drive to diagnose or to verify corrections made. Remove and repair clutches, transmissions, rear ends, etc. Remove and repair A/C systems. Perform state and federal safety inspections. Complete daily paperwork and repair orders. Required Education And/or Experiences 3-5 years’ experience in automotive/diesel mechanics. Self-motivated, capable of accomplishing tasks independently without direct supervision. A State Safety License is a plus, applicants will be required to obtain upon hire. Must have a complete set of tools. Must be able to pass physical abilities test and a drug screen upon hire as well as random periodic screenings. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. without assistance. Must have a clean driving record and be 21 years old or older for insurability purposes. Class A CDL, or able to obtain a CDL license upon hire a plus. Willing to work weekends a plus. Preferred Experience MIG / TIG welding certifications preferred but not required.
