Day in the Life at Vortex Doors Location: North Denver, CO — Denver, CO Sunrise finds you loading a well-stocked service vehicle at our Denver branch. Your first stop is a retail storefront needing a new closer and access control integration. By mid-morning, you are troubleshooting a stubborn rolling steel door with a broken spring. After lunch, you fine-tune a set of hollow metal doors to meet fire and building codes. Every visit ends the same way: a safe, smoothly operating door, a clear explanation of what you did, and accurate documentation of parts and labor. About The Role Vortex Doors, a customer-focused leader in commercial and industrial door service, is hiring Service Technicians. Whether you bring prior door experience or are new to the trade, you will install, service, and maintain a wide range of commercial doors and hardware with a focus on safety, precision, and top-tier customer care. What You Will Do Install and repair commercial door systems using the right tools and methods. Diagnose and fix issues such as damaged springs, hinges, locks, and electrical components. Set up and adjust hardware including locks, handles, closers, and access control devices. Verify every job meets applicable safety requirements and building codes. Deliver clear, courteous customer service; explain findings and offer cost-effective solutions. Record work performed, parts used, and site notes with accuracy. Troubleshoot methodically to resolve technical problems efficiently. Perform final quality checks to ensure work meets company standards. Work Schedule Full-time within business hours of 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with potential overtime and on-call assignments. What You Bring High school diploma or equivalent. Two or more years in commercial door service is a plus (not required). Familiarity with various door makes, models, and hardware is a plus. Skilled with hand and power tools; proficient operating power tools. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Comfort with fractions and precise tape measure readings for accurate layouts and installs. Clear communication and a customer-first approach. Attention to detail and pride in quality work. Knowledge of safety regulations and consistent use of safe work practices. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; regularly bend, lift, and work on knees; climb ladders up to 20 feet. Additional ongoing training provided.
