Finance Intern - Winston Salem, NC (Summer 2027)

What You Will Do Support payroll, inventory control, and cost accounting activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Assist with weekly payroll processing, including payroll reconciliations, employee pay adjustments, and timekeeping accuracy improvements. Analyze labor, material, and inventory data by reconciling employee hours, reviewing material usage variances, performing trend analysis, and identifying root causes. Support inventory management initiatives through cycle count compliance, inventory documentation improvements, lead receiving process enhancements, and corrective action planning. Contribute to month-end close activities, including journal entry preparation, chargeback reconciliations, financial reporting, and presentation development. Participate in continuous improvement projects, process optimization efforts, and cost savings initiatives across manufacturing and finance operations. Develop and maintain standard work procedures and documentation to improve efficiency and promote best practices within the finance team. Assist with ad hoc financial analysis, manufacturing scrap reporting, and other special projects that drive operational and financial performance. What You Will Do Collaborate with inventory management and plant finance teams to improve inventory accuracy, cycle count compliance, receiving processes, and operational reporting. Monitor adherence to cycle count policies, investigate inventory variances, and support timely resolution of adjustments outside established tolerances. Develop and maintain process documentation, standard work procedures, and reporting templates to enhance consistency and efficiency. Participate in month-end close activities, financial analysis, and reporting to support informed business decisions. Identify process gaps and improvement opportunities, implementing solutions that drive operational effectiveness and cost savings. Leverage financial and enterprise systems, including SAP, OneStream, and Excel, to analyze data, generate reports, and support business initiatives. Contribute to continuous improvement and cost-reduction projects through cross-functional collaboration, meetings, analysis, and reporting. What We Look For Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university. Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance. Duration: Summer 2027.
