Certified Medical Assistant

Job Overview We are looking for a dedicated, Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our clinical team and directly support our physicians in providing high-quality patient care. This is a strictly clinical back-office role with zero front desk or reception duties. The ideal candidate thrives in a hands-on clinical environment, excels at multi-tasking, and works seamlessly with providers to maintain an efficient workflow. Key Responsibilities Patient Rooming & Vitals: Room patients, record complete vital signs, obtain medication lists, and document patient history accurately in the EMR. Clinical Procedures: Perform in office tests, administer injections, minor in office procedures such as ear lavage and EKG. (No phlebotomy) Instrument & Room Management: Prepare, sanitize, and stock examination rooms and the lab. Clinical collaboration with physician and administrative: Reviewing and calling lab results, answering patient clinical questions, creating orders, patient education, process prior authorizations for medications and imaging, manage prescription refill requests, and coordinate referrals all under physician direction Qualifications & Skills Certification: Active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) credential required. Education: High school diploma or GED required. Certifications: BLS/BCLS certification required (or obtained within orientation period). Experience: Minimum 1 year of outpatient clinic experience required.. Technical Proficiency: Experience navigating AthenaHealth EMR systems, updating patient charts, and handling prior authorization documentation. Core Competencies: Detail-oriented, strong communication skills, dependable, and capable of prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced clinical setting. Professional Attributes: Prompt, detail-oriented, excellent verbal and written communication, and ability to troubleshoot independently in a fast-paced environment.
