Role Description The Security Officer role at ORNA Security Services is a full-time, on-site position located in Aventura, FL. The Security Officer is responsible for monitoring premises, manning posts, performing routine checks, and securing checkpoints to prevent theft, trespassing, and other security threats. Daily tasks include maintaining a high level of alertness, observing and reporting suspicious activity, completing clear and concise incident reports, and following established security protocols. The role involves working with handheld devices and security technology to log activities, communicate with supervisors, and ensure accurate, real-time information flow. Security Officers may also assist with front door operations, support loss prevention efforts, and respond promptly and professionally to emergencies and incidents. Qualifications Strong observation, situational awareness, and attention to detail skills, with an analytical approach to identifying potential security risks. Ability to write clear, concise, and accurate reports, including incident documentation and daily activity logs. Comfort with using handheld devices and basic security technology to track posts, conduct routine checks, and communicate with the team. Knowledge of loss prevention practices and response to organized retail crime, or willingness to learn through in-house training. Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and integrity when interacting with clients, visitors, and team members. Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods and respond quickly in emergencies. Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or related fields is preferred but not required. High school diploma or equivalent; valid security officer license or ability to obtain one in accordance with Florida regulations. Flexible availability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
