Special Education Teacher — Exceptional Children (EC) Quest Academy Charter School | North Raleigh, NC Position: Full-Time Special Education Teacher Grade Levels: K-8 Start Date: Open Quest Academy Charter School, a small and supportive charter school in North Raleigh, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our school community. We are looking for an educator who believes every student can learn and who is committed to providing individualized instruction, meaningful support, and a positive school experience for students with exceptional needs. At Quest Academy, you won’t get lost in a large school system. Our smaller school environment allows teachers to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues and to truly know the children they serve. What You’ll Do
• Provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Develop and implement effective, differentiated instructional strategies.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion and student success.
• Develop, monitor, and update IEP goals and documentation.
• Collect and analyze student data to monitor progress.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs.
• Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with families and related-service providers.
• Provide accommodations and modifications as outlined in students’ IEPs.
• Create a positive, structured, and encouraging classroom environment.
• Advocate for students and help them develop academic, social, behavioral, and independent-living skills. We Are Looking For Someone Who
• Holds or is eligible for a North Carolina Special Education/Exceptional Children teaching license .
• Has a genuine passion for working with students with disabilities.
• Believes in high expectations and individualized support for every student.
• Is patient, compassionate, organized, and flexible.
• Works well as part of a collaborative team.
• Communicates effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
• Is comfortable working in a small-school environment where teachers work closely together.
• Is committed to building positive relationships and helping students recognize their strengths and abilities.
