# Software Engineer

Role Description The Software Engineer will design, develop, test, and maintain software systems that support operational agents for the physical economy. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing back-end services and APIs, writing clean and efficient code, reviewing code from peers, and troubleshooting issues across development and production environments. The role involves collaborating with product managers, other engineers, and operations teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, as well as contributing to system architecture and performance optimization. This is a full-time, on-site role based in St Louis, MO, requiring close collaboration with local team members and stakeholders. Qualifications Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software design principles. Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience building production-quality applications. Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, including APIs, databases, and server-side frameworks. Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and related design patterns. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Experience with modern development tools (version control, CI/CD, automated testing) and collaborative workflows. Ability to analyze complex problems, propose solutions, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical partners. Comfort working on-site in a multidisciplinary environment focused on the intersection of software and physical operations. Experience with distributed systems, cloud platforms, or real-time data processing is a plus.
