Fire Alarm Project Manager

Location: Columbus, OH Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and closeout of fire alarm, fire suppression, and/or security projects within an assigned region. This role will coordinate with clients, contractors, engineers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, within budget, and in compliance with applicable codes and client specifications . The Project Manager will be responsible for project budgets, schedules, documentation, stakeholder communication, and coordination through final system acceptance. Key Responsibilities Project Management Oversee projects from initial planning through completion and closeout. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Plan project requirements, resources, labor hours, schedules, and timelines. Coordination Collaborate with engineers, contractors, clients, vendors, and internal teams to effectively plan and execute projects. Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors to support efficient project execution. Partner with design teams to ensure required drawings are completed and provided according to project timelines. Compliance Ensure fire alarm and fire suppression installations comply with applicable local, state, and federal regulations, OBC, NFPA standards, and customer specifications. Ensure systems are properly installed and commissioned prior to final acceptance testing with the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) and customer. Budgeting & Cost Control Prepare and manage project budgets. Monitor project costs and maintain financial efficiency. Forecast project requirements, including labor hours and resources, prior to on-site work. Ensure installation hours are accurately tracked and charged to the appropriate projects. Documentation Maintain detailed project documentation, including specifications, drawings, reports, and project records. Ensure project documentation is properly stored and archived. Maintain accurate project records throughout the project lifecycle. Communication Organize and participate in project meetings. Provide regular project updates to customers and stakeholders. Facilitate effective communication between customers, design teams, contractors, and project personnel. Training & Business Support Provide training and guidance to installation teams as needed. Assist with new business proposals and proposal reviews. Support continuous improvement of project execution and operational processes. Qualifications Previous experience as a Project Manager or experience in a similar/transferrable industry role. Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems preferred. Knowledge of fire suppression systems and applicable safety regulations preferred. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities under tight deadlines. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Experience with Procore and Salesforce preferred. Familiarity with NFPA standards and applicable building/fire codes preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds as needed. Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and crouching. Ability to occasionally push, pull, and reach overhead. Ability to properly wear and use required personal protective equipment (PPE). Ability to drive company vehicles and transport equipment or materials when required. Ability to remain alert and focused while performing detailed or repetitive tasks.
