The Creative Media Designer III serves as a key creative and visual communications professional for the Texas Veterans Commission (TVC), developing compelling, accurate, accessible and brand-consistent creative that supports statewide communications, outreach and public awareness initiatives.The position develops visual concepts and creative materials for integrated communications campaigns, agency publications, digital and print advertising, outreach initiatives, promotional materials and major agency projects. The Creative Media Designer also serves as a steward of the TVC visual brand, helping ensure consistent application of agency branding across programs, platforms and communications.Working closely with the Communications and Veteran Outreach team, this position translates complex programs, services and initiatives into clear and engaging visual communications for veterans, transitioning service members, their families, partners, stakeholders and the public.The successful candidate must demonstrate strong visual design skills as well as strong written communication, proofreading and attention to detail. This position is expected to review its own work carefully for spelling, grammar, accuracy, consistency, formatting and adherence to agency standards before submitting materials for review or publication.Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative, creativity and independent judgment.To promote a strong environment, TVC maintains a telework policy. Telework is not a contract of employment and if granted may be terminated at any time and for any reason without notice.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES40% Creative Design and Integrated CampaignsConceptualizes and develops creative approaches for statewide communications, outreach and public awareness campaigns.Creates cohesive campaign suites for paid, earned and owned communications channels, including digital advertising, social media, billboards, print, signage and other platforms.Designs flyers, brochures, posters, advertisements, infographics, presentation materials, event collateral, digital graphics and other communications materials.Develops reusable graphic templates and creative systems to support consistent agency communications.Creates graphics for digital and social platforms in multiple formats and sizes.Develops motion graphics and other digital creative assets as appropriate.Collaborates with communications, web, video and program staff to translate communications objectives into effective visual concepts.Reviews creative materials for accuracy, spelling, grammar, formatting, visual consistency and completeness before submitting work for approval or publication.Prepares production-ready files and performs quality-control checks a ross print and digital applications.20% Publications and ReportsLeads visual design and layout of major agency publications, including the Texas State Veterans Benefits Booklet, Strategic Plan, Biennial Report, program reports, brochures, guides and other publications.Develops layouts, infographics, charts and other visual treatments that make complex information clear and engaging.Works closely with the Director of Communications, Communications Manager, Communications staff and agency subject-matter experts throughout publication development.Establishes templates and production standards for recurring publications.Proofreads and performs quality-control reviews of materials during the design and production process, identifying inconsistencies, typographical errors, formatting problems and other issues before publication.Ensures publications and digital materials meet applicable accessibility requirements.Coordinates creative production schedules and assists with print-production requirements.Serves as a steward of the TVC visual identity and agency brand.Maintains and updates the TVC Style Guide and visual brand standards.Develops and maintains agency templates, logos, graphic standards and branded assets.Advises TVC programs and staff on appropriate application of agency branding.Reviews materials to promote visual, editorial and brand consistency across agency communications.Helps develop visual identities for major initiatives and campaigns while maintaining alignment with the TVC master brand.Develops concepts and designs for promotional and outreach materials.Designs mock-ups for promotional products, challenge coins, awards and other agency materials.Researches creative options, specifications, quantities and production requirements.Coordinates design specifications, proofs and production requirements with agency staff, printers and vendors.Carefully reviews vendor proofs and final materials for accuracy and adherence to approved designs before producti
