# Sales Manager, Freight Forwarding

Our client, an international freight forwarder, is looking to appoint a high-performing Sales Manager based in New York/New Jersey to accelerate growth across global air and ocean freight services. This role is particularly suited to experienced sales professionals with a strong focus on import trade lanes from the Far East and Southeast Asia, leveraging established networks and market expertise. Key Responsibilities: Sell international freight forwarding services, with a strong emphasis on import flows from the Far East and Southeast Asia (air and ocean) Develop new business opportunities through targeted outreach, networking, and strategic prospecting Lead commercial negotiations, including pricing, tenders, and margin optimisation to maximise profitability Collaborate closely with operations and senior leadership to ensure seamless service delivery and high client satisfaction Provide consultative, solution-led support to clients across complex global logistics requirements Maintain a strong sales pipeline and consistently achieve or exceed revenue and gross profit targets Key Requirements: Minimum 5 years’ experience in international air and ocean freight forwarding sales Demonstrated success in developing business across Far East / Southeast Asia import markets An active, transferable portfolio of client relationships is highly desirable Strong commercial acumen with experience in pricing, quoting, and profitability management Proficiency in CRM systems and sales pipeline management Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to operate independently Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
