Transportation Team Lead – Transportation Directorate

This role provides senior-level leadership across transportation policy, programs, and operations, applying broad logistics expertise to analyze requirements, manage risk, develop practical solutions, and support effective end-to-end transportation capabilities.  Responsibilities  Team Leadership: Support a team of Transportation Analysts responsible for Transportation Directorate governance, programs, and daily assignments.  Delivery and Coordination: Mitigate risk, maintain quality standards, and collaborate with the client and project team.  Policy and Regulatory Support: Oversee and provide technical updates to transportation policies, directives, and regulations.  Policy Administration: Oversee policy exception requests, Defense Transportation Regulation (DTR) changes, and domicile-to-duty approvals.  Program and Working Group Support: Manage working groups and oversee Joint Transportation Management System (JTMS) initiatives.  Analysis and Reporting: Perform data analysis and reporting and apply category management practices to improve efficiency.  Continuous Improvement: Conduct research on industry best practices and provide recommendations to support efficiency.    What Success Looks Like  Our team combines the creative and the pragmatic to deliver the results that matter most to our clients.  We see beauty when art and science come together.  We seek self-starters, people who are confident in tackling challenges independently and bringing this to high-performing teams.  We continually seek feedback from our customers and employees, looking for opportunities to grow.  We are a small company which gives you an essential voice in shaping our culture.  You will help grow our culture, and you will grow from experience, too.    QUALIFICATIONS  Experience & Education Requirements:  TS/SCI Clearance Required  Bachelor's Degree plus five (5) years of relevant experience  DoD background and knowledge of OSW Staff operations  Position is on-site and located in Alexandria, VA  Physical Requirements:  Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.  Close vision is required.  Preferred Qualifications:  Demonstrated knowledge of DoD transportation policies with experience in airlift operations.  Experience with operations of the U.S. Maritime Administration (MARAD), Military Sealift Command (MSC), and Army Transportation Command.  Background with VISA, VTA, TSP, and MSP programs is a plus.   Experience with chartered, commercial, and organic sealift requirements.   Working knowledge of the Jones Act and cargo preference requirements   WHAT WE OFFER  Salary: $155K- $180K annually, commensurate with experience  Comprehensive Medical, Dental & Vision coverage   401(k) plan with employer contributions and matching   Company-paid Life Insurance and Short- & Long-Term Disability   Flexible PTO   Health & Dependent Care Spending Accounts   OneMedical primary care membership  Annual Learning & Development benefit to support your career growth   Wellness benefit   Mobile phone stipend   Charitable contribution matching  Technical Assent is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
