Responsibilities Accountant Lakeville, MN (Hybrid) About The Role At Post Consumer Brands, we're looking for an Accountant who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and ensuring financial accuracy. As a key member of our Corporate Accounting team, you'll help drive accurate and timely financial reporting while partnering across the organization to support critical business operations. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of assigned accounting processes, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and work alongside experienced finance professionals in a supportive, team-oriented environment. The position reports to the Accounting Manager and provides broad exposure to corporate accounting activities and financial controls. Key Responsibilities Prepare journal entries and support the monthly financial close process. Complete balance sheet reconciliations, related analyses, and investigate outstanding items or discrepancies. Perform daily accounting activities, including reviewing bank activity, processing payment requests, and supporting routine accounting operations. Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and internal controls. Support internal and external audit activities by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to requests. Prepare tax-related schedules and other financial reporting support as needed. Document procedures and identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and efficiencies. Collaborate with accounting team members to provide backup support and ensure deadlines are met. Participate in special projects and cross-functional initiatives. Qualifications What We're Looking For Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required. 3+ years of accounting experience preferred. Experience with JD Edwards or another ERP system is preferred. Strong proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and internal controls. Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and prioritization skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines. Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments. A dependable, accountable, and team-oriented approach to work. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
