The Opportunity Keep powerline construction crews equipped, ready, and working safely. Reporting to the Fleet & Tooling Manager, the Fleet & Tooling Coordinator supports the R-Project in Stapleton, Nebraska, helping ensure crews have the vehicles, equipment, and certified tools they need. You’ll coordinate inventory, maintenance, inspections, and logistics while keeping safety, reliability, and costs in focus. This role suits someone who enjoys solving practical problems, organizing competing priorities, and working closely with Operations, mechanics, and suppliers. Your work will directly support equipment readiness, reduce downtime, and help crews stay on schedule. What You’ll Do Plan for operational needs: Work with Operations and Estimating to understand project schedules, anticipate fleet and tooling requirements, and adjust availability as priorities change. Manage inventory and utilization: Maintain accurate equipment and tooling inventories, track usage and availability, and identify opportunities to make better use of existing resources. Coordinate daily maintenance: Lead daily tailboards, set mechanic priorities, dispatch mechanics, order parts, and coordinate repairs and preventive servicing. Keep inspections and certifications current: Track required inspections, certifications, and annual renewals. Review daily vehicle and equipment inspection reports and follow through on deficiencies. Support safe, compliant operations: Maintain fleet standards and processes, support compliance with applicable FMCSA/DOT and occupational health and safety requirements, and keep shops and yards safe and organized. Control costs and improve reliability: Review vehicle and tooling condition and performance, recommend replacements or upgrades, and assess major repairs with the Fleet & Tooling Manager. Coordinate logistics: Arrange the movement of equipment, tools, and parts between project locations. Work with Operations on safe, secure transport planning for magazines and implodes. Manage vendor performance: Hold suppliers and service providers accountable for quality, pricing, delivery timelines, and contractual commitments. What You’ll Bring At least three years of experience in inventory management. Working knowledge of industry regulations and requirements relevant to fleet, tooling, and safe operations. Knowledge of cross-border shipping, including shipping documentation, Harmonized System (HS) codes, and customs requirements. Familiarity with logistics and less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation. Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate competing equipment, maintenance, and delivery priorities. Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with field teams, mechanics, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. A valid Class D driver’s license and the ability to meet company driver qualification requirements. Project, Pay & Work Schedule Location: Site-based on the R-Project in Stapleton, Nebraska. Overtime: Overtime applies after 40 hours worked per week. Per diem: $200.00 USD per day. Rotation: 3 weeks on / 1 week off Safety: This is a safety-sensitive position. The range shown is the expected base pay range for this role. Final compensation will be determined based on role requirements, experience, qualifications, work location, applicable project/site requirements, internal equity, and any applicable collective agreement or union requirements. This range does not include overtime, premiums, per diem / LOA, bonuses, benefits, or other forms of compensation unless specifically stated in the job posting.Base Pay Range$40—$46 USDForbes Bros.
