# Maintenance Associate

Reports to: Maintenance Manager FLSA Designation: Non-Exempt Position Type: Full-Time Job Summary The Maintenance Associate provides hands-on support to keep our facility, production equipment, and work areas safe and operating properly. This is a hands-on maintenance and repair role for someone who is mechanically inclined, enjoys fixing things, and is willing to learn. We are looking for someone with basic mechanical and electrical skills who can troubleshoot problems, use common hand tools, read a multimeter, and learn new equipment and repair methods through training and coaching. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine maintenance, adjustments, and basic repairs on production equipment and facility systems to keep them operating safely and reliably. Troubleshooting: Identify the cause of basic equipment problems using observation, common hand tools, and basic diagnostic equipment, and determine when additional assistance is needed. Basic Electrical Support: Use a multimeter to check basic electrical components and help identify electrical issues; safely replace basic components when trained and directed. Preventive Maintenance: Complete scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment and building systems and communicate problems that may require additional repair. Production Support: Respond to maintenance needs in a timely manner while planning work, when practical, to minimize disruption to normal production. Work Orders & Supplies: Complete assigned maintenance work orders, keep basic maintenance supplies organized, and communicate when parts or supplies are needed. Safety & Organization: Maintain a clean and organized work area, follow safety procedures, and identify and report unsafe conditions. Teamwork & Communication: Work cooperatively with Production Managers, Supervisors, and other team members to address maintenance needs and improve equipment reliability. Cross-Training & Development: Learn the operation and maintenance of PTG equipment through hands-on training, coaching, and experience. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Some experience with mechanical repair, maintenance, construction, automotive work, manufacturing, or other hands-on work preferred. Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to learn how equipment works. Comfortable using common hand and power tools. Basic ability to use and read a multimeter. Able to follow instructions, ask questions, and learn through hands-on training and coaching. Basic computer skills. Good problem-solving and communication skills. Reliable attendance and a positive, team-oriented attitude. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and work around equipment for extended periods. Work Environment This position works primarily in a manufacturing and warehouse environment and involves frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and working around production equipment. The employee may be exposed to noise, dust, varying temperatures, tools, machinery, and other typical manufacturing conditions. Appropriate safety procedures and personal protective equipment must be followed. The maintenance portion of this job may require a schedule that starts before or ends after the normal production shift. This allows maintenance and repair work to be completed without unnecessarily disrupting normal production. Schedule Monday–Friday, first shift. The work schedule may be adjusted earlier or later than the normal production shift based on equipment maintenance needs. Overtime may be required based on business and equipment needs.
